Ceci est la couleur de mes rêves

What we are is God's gift to us. What we become is our gift to God. - Eleanor Powell

A prayer

As I was listening to Jhapo Naam (the song from Urbana) after buying it from iTunes, I noticed a part near the end where Chris Hale the singer/sitar player stops to pray before continuing. I was floored by his prayer. This is how it goes:

Lord Jesus, we worship you. You are the one who frees us from hypocrisy. You are the one who lets us truly know you, lets us truly know God so that we don’t have to walk around faking a relationship with God or faking religion. You are the one who lets us know it’s real because you take us in the darkest place of our life- not when we’re most religious, but you take us in a dark place and you accept us there. We know because your Spirit encourages us in the dark place and reminds us we belong to you. Lord Jesus, your name is a true name. - Chris Hale

Lord, would you help break the chains that bind me to the very things that keep me from you: hypocrisy, the false gods of this world that lure me with their seductive siren calls, pride, and above all self-reliance. Lord, I ask you to set me free from these chains, that I may live a free woman living in complete dependence of you. May I not take any step without consulting with you first, so that my steps may coordinate with your plans. I am encouraged when you challenge me because you remind me of how present and steadfast you are even in those times of need. I am encouraged that you are allowing me more opportunities to grow, because I know in order to grow I must cross a desert of some sort. I want my steps to be inside your great footprints so that I may not make any imprint of my own. I want to live to be forgotten so that after I am gone, nothing of myself would remain, except for the things you had planned for me to complete in your name so that ALL THE GLORY be to you El-Elyon.

I pray Lord that I would cling to you with a daily desperation that would cultivate the passion I have for you. So that with each new morning my heart would wake and rise with the sun and be restored unto you once again. I want to live passionately for you so that I can be an unmistakable witness. - Joyce Kim
